Die 1994 gegründete Casa Loma Jazz Band pflegt den New Orleans Stil der 20-er und den Swing Stil der frühen 30-er Jahre. Die
Besetzung entspricht den legendären Hot Seven, an Stelle des Schlagzeugs tritt das Waschbrett. Neben Standards wie Alexander's Ragtime Band, Doctor Jazz, Mood Indigo, Tiger Rag oder When You're Smiling sind es in
Anlehnung an alte Originalaufnahmen entstandene subtil mehrstimmig arrangierte meist unbekannte Nummern, welche New Orleans Fans und Kenner der Old Time Szene in wahre Begeisterungsstürme ausbrechen lassen. Der
Bandname erinnert an das Casa Loma Orchestra, der ab 1928 erfolgreichen Big Band in New York. Der vom damaligen Leiter Glen Gray komponierte Casa Loma Stomp bildet seit 1994 die Erkennungsmelodie der Casa Loma Jazz
Band, die sich einen hervorragenden Namen in der Schweiz und in den Nachbarländern Deutschland und Frankreich erarbeitet hat. Das letzte Highlight war der 1. Platz am 15. Megève Jazz Contest im Juli 2008. Auf der

Le groupe de musique fondé en 1994 joue le style de la Nouvelle Orléans des années 20

arrangées et en plusieurs voix, qui rappellent des anciens enregistrements originaux qui enchantent et enthousiasment les amateurs et connaisseurs de la scène du Old Time à la Nouvelle Orléans. Le nom du groupe
rappelle le souvenir du Casa Loma Orchestra, la fameuse Big Band new-yorkaise fondée en 1928. Le « Casa Loma Stomp » composé par le directeur de cet orchestre, Glen Gray, sert depuis 1994 de mélodie phare
